The Civil Service Uganda College-CSCU has attributed the poor performance and service delivery in government schools to poor management.

CSCU was established on 1st July 2010 under the Ministry of Public Service. The College is responsible for in-service training, strengthening public policy research, providing advisory services and supporting innovations for improved service delivery.

Now, Savia Mugwanya the CSCU commissioner expressed dismay over the poor performance including lack of supervision of school stakeholders including teachers, head teachers and school management committees saying this to blame for the poor academic performance.

She made the remarks during the opening of a three day training conference for education stakeholders aimed at empowering them with management skills.

The Hoima municipal principal education officer Johnson Kusiima Baigana, says the training has been long overdue adding that poor management is one of the major challenges affecting education standards.

The training attracted education officers, head teachers and inspectors of school among others from the districts of Hoima and Kikuube and Hoima Municipality.
